history of the personal computer...

With the invention of the microprocessor the first personal computers were made possible. Although it would take a few years for things to come together and for the price to fall before a real usable computer is available. The two most notable processors used on these original machines were the Motorola 6502 and the Zilog Z80 processors. Steve Wozniacs Apple ][ was the first practical modern personal computer. It was revolutionary in that it pioneered many features that we take for granted today.

The vintage machines on this page are some of the most memorable for me and are undoubtedly among the first personal computers to start it all.....enjoy!
